I’m a freelance journalist and copywriter based in Oxford, within easy reach of London. I write about all sorts of topics including design and the creative industries (graphic design, typography, illustration, animation, branding, advertising), film and home entertainment, music, career and employment issues, consumer finance, food, relationships and mental health.
My work has been published by The Guardian, Independent, Psychologies, Computer Arts, SFX, Virgin Media, Film4, TheSite and many others. My clients include national newspapers, consumer and trade magazines, customer publishing agencies, universities and charities.
Recent work includes articles about motor neurone disease, corporate social responsibility and happy employees for The Guardian; food allergies and homespun cold cures for Guardian.co.uk; Hugo & Marie, sustainability and the art of reinvention for Computer Arts; medieval calendars for the Arts & Humanities Research Council; loneliness, should you break up and how to break up for TheSite; and summer reading for Cambridge Alumni Magazine.
I’m also an experienced sub and production editor and have freelanced in-house for The Guardian, Sunday Times, Jewish Chronicle, The Musician, Sticky Content and more. I am able to undertake production work remotely using Adobe Creative Suite 6 on a Mac.
